They describe this perfume as a "vanilla oriental."
Top notes: Citrus and orange blossom
Middle notes: Freesia, jasmine, Bulgarian rose
Low notes: Amber, musk, vanilla, heliotrope (VS)
When I smell this perfume, it reminds me of a calmer, simpler time. See, my grandmother wore this perfume for the last few years of her life, and this perfume, among a couple others, remind me of her. The Bulgarian rose scent is a little beyond "middle note" status, in my opinion, but I like that.
I warn you, this is a perfume that develops as it warms on your skin. For some, it may be far too strong. To others, not nearly strong enough. I do not suggest using more than one spray at the wrists, one at the throat, and (maybe) one into your hair. Rapture has serious staying power, as far as fragrance goes, so you won't need to touch it up until well after an 8-hour shift at work.
They haven't changed the packaging much in the time they have marketed this perfume, and that has worked in their favor. After all, unlike the myriad changes to the packaging of the VS Garden Collection, this one has been easy to track down and purchase, and is fairly reasonably priced. Due to its staying power, the bottle lasts for quite a while. (I have had the same bottle for 6 years, and it's still more than half full.)
Also, if you want this to last even longer, layer it with the lotion of the same name. (I freaking LOVE this lotion!) It's not super-heavy in terms of texture, but it moisturizes beautifully and makes the fragrance last even longer. (As a note, moisturized skin holds fragrance longer, as a rule, thus this is a win-win!)
The bottle looks like this. I love the classic bottle style.
Happy hunting!
